Ask about the age brackets before enrolling. Most schools split kids into groups like 4-6, 7-9, and 10-13 with separate curricula and class pace, so a bracket matched to your child's age and attention span matters more than the style itself.

Good to know

What age can kids start martial arts classes?

Many schools accept kids as young as 4 or 5 in a "little dragons" or similar intro program, though most structured belt curricula start around age 6-7. The right age depends more on whether the child can follow instructions in a group setting than on any strict cutoff.

How much do kids martial arts classes cost?

Monthly tuition for kids classes commonly runs $80-150, sometimes less at community or rec-center programs and more at schools with active competition teams. Most schools also charge a one-time registration fee plus periodic costs for belt testing or uniforms.
